Environmental protection -The ConnectedRide Cradle is protected according to IP65. -Sufficient weather protection should be considered when selecting a smartphone. Most popular smartphones already offer sufficient protection against weather conditions. Smartphone and Bluetooth information -To enable the app to be controlled by the control element of the navigation preparation on the vehicle (MMC), a Bluetooth connection (Bluetooth Low Energy) is required. Bluetooth pairing takes place within the BMW Motorrad Connected app and is only required once during initial setup. When recognized again after switching on, the devices connect automatically for the next ride. -To securely fix the smartphone in the ConnectedRide cradle, BMW Motorrad recommends removing the smartphone cover if its dimensions interfere with an optimal fit of the smartphone in the ConnectedRide cradle or inductive charging. -Smartphones must have at least Bluetooth Low Energy version 4.2 in order to meet the security requirements (LE Secure Connections) for the connection. Smartphones with older Bluetooth versions are therefore not supported.
