Slip-On Line

With a distinctive sound when shifting through the gears, coupled with improved power and torque, all integrated into a full titanium system, the Slip-On Line titanium exhaust system delivers the true Akrapovič experience while meeting ECE type approval. Made from lightweight high-grade titanium alloys and finished with two sets of carbon/titanium tailpipes, the system features complex parts manufactured in the in-house titanium foundry, including the valve bodies and the collector between the center muffler and the tailpipes. Two valves - one on each side of the muffler - adjust the gas flow to create the distinctive Akrapovič sound, which is quite different from that of the X5M with a standard system. The sound of the exhaust system is most noticeable during gear changes and acceleration. With the optional Akrapovič Sound Kit, this can be further controlled and the listening pleasure enhanced. Akrapovič measured a power increase of 12.1 hp at 2,400 rpm and a torque increase of 35.4 Nm at 2,400 rpm in a comparison test on the Akrapovič dyno with a BMW X5M equipped with a standard M sport exhaust system. The use of the link pipe set alters the gas flow and elicits the best possible sound from the titanium Slip-On Line system. In addition, Akrapovič has designed accessories to highlight the beautiful finish of the system tailpipes. A diffuser handcrafted from carbon in both matte and gloss finishes can add a special touch to the visual experience. After installing the Akrapovič Sound Kit, the ECE type approval of the titanium Slip-On-Line exhaust system is no longer valid. For vehicles without gasoline particulate filter, the ECE type approval certificate is not valid. For the installation of the Slip-On system, the standard exhaust system must be cut off.
